Welcome to the Imaginality Developer's Resources Wiki
This is a community site that will help you create Modules for
Imaginality with tutorials, samples and video demonstrations etc.
The three main areas (called "Webs") you will want to visit are:
- An Overview to creating modules (this page).
- Content - How to create content, such as 3D objects, textures, audio and 2D buttons etc.
- Coding - How to write the code that defines how users interact with the content.
These "Webs" can be found down the left-hand side of the screen, along with webs for
TWiki (to learn more about TWiki - see below) and
Sandbox (where you can experiment with editing TWiki Pages).
Where to Start
The following pages are good places to start to get an idea of how to create Imaginality Modules.
Flash Video Demonstrations.
This is a series of Flash Video demonstrations of creating Imaginality content in 3D Studio Max and developing a Imaginality Module from it. Even if you don't use 3D Studio Max, these demonstrations are of use, because most 3D Modellers will operate in a similar way. These videos also demonstrate things that a relevant regardless of the 3D Modeller used - how to import content into the
ModulePacker, add scripts to create interaction and the result being run. They also provide sample files that you can use to re-create what you have seen.
The Imaginality Module Packer. The Module Packer is where you collect togeather all of your content/media, add the script for interaction etc, try running it and finally submit the module to be published in the Imaginality Access Portal.
This describes how to install and use the Module Packer.
What is this Wiki Stuff?
This entire site is a Wiki, built using
TWiki. A Wiki is a website that can be easily read
and edited by anyone - even you. In this way, everyone who reads this site can also contribute their experiences, making it a more useful resource for everyone.
It is actually surprisingly easy to edit a page - simply click on the "Edit" button (found at the top and bottom of every page), make a change, and click "Save".
It can be even easier if you click the "WYSIWYG" (What You See is What You Get) button beside the "Edit" button - you can see the text exactly as it will finally appear, complete with formatting, and a graphical toolbar like you would expect in any word-processor.

Using the Wiki:
To start
Formatting Text, you have three main options:
- WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) is the easiest - you can see the text exactly as it will finally appear, complete with formatting, and a graphical toolbar like you would expect in any word-processor.
- You can use the traditional HTML Tags, you may already be familiar with.
- Or you can learn TWiki Shorthand (Basic Info or Detailed Info and add Graphical Icons), which may take a few extra minutes to learn, but is the fastest and most convenient in the long run.
We suggest you
Register (for free) before you edit pages so that you can be
Credited for your contributions and access useful tools like
Web Notify (which can email you when pages you choose have been changed).
